From the moment they stepped off the coach, our T1s were wide-eyed with anticipation. Their day at Whipsnade Zoo promised close encounters of the furred, feathered, and fantastical kind—and it delivered in spades. With chatter rippling through the group and hands pointing eagerly toward enclosures, the children launched into a day of discovery, wonder, and a few delightfully smelly surprises.
Our Piazza was buzzing with joy as the Parents’ Association hosted a heartwarming Children’s Tea Party at Senior House. From the first hook of Hook-a-Duck to the final bite of sushi, the afternoon was filled with laughter, games, and a feast fit for a fête—thanks to a generous spread of cakes, sausage rolls, scones, and more. The classics like Splat the Rat made a welcome return, much to the delight of young (and not-so-young!) guests. A Rite of Passage Beneath the Willow: Leavers Take Their Final Bow As the academic year draws to a close, the lawn beneath the willow tree once again became the stage for one of the most cherished traditions in the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú calendar. But this year’s Leavers raised the bar in spectacular fashion—marking their final weeks not only with talent and flair, but with a Shakespearean trilogy that will be remembered for years to come.
Form 2 recently took to the stage in Hinsley Hall to present their moving WWII-themed Drama, Dance and Music Showcase — a culmination of months of dedication and creative effort since the Michaelmas Term.
In a time-honoured tradition, our Form 6 Leavers took their final bow beneath the beloved willow tree in the Senior House garden, performing a breathtaking trilogy of Shakespeare plays that marked their transition from school to the wider world.
Byron House kicked off the half-term break in style with a joyful and action-packed Summer Fair. This year’s event was particularly special for the Form 2 pupils, who took responsibility for planning and running their own enterprise stalls; a Byron House tradition before they move up to Senior House in September.
On the Friday before half term, Sandys hosted a fantastic fundraiser in support of Teach the Teacher, which involved a delicious BBQ, music and games all in Summer home clothes. Sandys was the final of our four Houses to host a charity event, with the children at Senior House already having enjoyed a disco night, film evening and a bake stall.
Form 3 took part in an enriching visit to Cambridge Central Mosque, deepening their understanding of Islamic faith, architecture, and community as part of their Religious Studies curriculum.
Pupils from across Forms 4, 5, and 6 showcased their problem-solving skills and mathematical creativity in this year's UMKT Junior Maths Challenge, achieving an impressive range of Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards. With several pupils qualifying for the next round, the competition proved to be an exciting test of resilience, strategy, and logical thinking.
Our Form 4s embarked on an inspiring visit to Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge, immersing themselves in the current exhibition and engaging in hands-on artistic exploration. The trip provided a unique opportunity to experience the blend of history, creativity, and contemporary art that defines this celebrated museum and house.
